About the Role
Our client, a leading research and development company based in the innovation hub of Cambridge , is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer with full-stack expertise. This role is critical for designing, developing, and deploying advanced software solutions that drive their groundbreaking projects. You will work across the entire technology stack, from crafting engaging user interfaces to building robust backend services and databases. The ideal candidate will have a passion for problem-solving, a deep understanding of modern development practices, and the ability to contribute to architectural decisions within a highly collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable full-stack web applications, contributing to both frontend and backend components.
- Design and implement efficient databases and APIs to support application functionality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including researchers, product managers, and other engineers, to define and deliver technical solutions.
- Write clean, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code, ensuring high standards of quality and maintainability.
- Optimize application performance, identify and resolve technical bottlenecks across the stack.
- Contribute to architectural design discussions and propose innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development .
- Proficiency in frontend technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, and associated state management.
- Strong experience with backend languages like Python, Node.js, or Java, and associated frameworks.
- Expertise in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and experience with database design and optimization.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization is a significant advantage.
