Senior Software Engineer (Python/Django)

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain sophisticated web applications and backend services using Python and the Django framework.
• Design and implement efficient, secure, and scalable database schemas and queries (SQL/PostgreSQL).
• Build and consume RESTful APIs for seamless integration between front-end and back-end systems.
• Write clean, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and deliver features.
• Optimize application performance, database queries, and system architecture for scalability and reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on Python.
• Proven expertise with the Django framework and building complex web applications.
• In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), ORM, and database optimization.
• Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team in Oxford .
