About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer to contribute to their innovative technology initiatives in Edinburgh . You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and high-performance software solutions. This role involves working on complex technical challenges, collaborating with a talented engineering team, and influencing technical decisions. You will have the opportunity to work with modern technologies and methodologies, driving the development of critical software components that power the company's services.

Key Responsibilities

Design, code, test, and deploy high-quality software applications and services.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and other engineers, to define and implement new features.
Optimize application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for scalability and reliability.
Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring adherence to coding standards.
Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making processes.
Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the development team.

Requirements

5+ years of professional experience in software development .
Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Solid understanding of database systems (SQL/NoSQL) and distributed systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for writing clean, maintainable code.
Experience working in a hybrid environment, contributing effectively both remotely and in the Edinburgh office.
