Job Description
To develop and maintain a microservices-based system using PHP and modern frameworks, contributing to the re-architecture of our bespoke platform., The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for implementing microservices using PHP, with a strong emphasis on Laravel or similar frameworks. The role also involves database design and development, API integration, and DevOps practices in a Dockerized environment. Collaboration with legacy systems and mentoring junior developers will be part of the role.
Requirements
- The key requirement for this position is to have proven skills in designing and implementing microservices and technology architectures for new systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop scalable microservices using PHP and Laravel (or similar frameworks).
- Design and implement relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), including schema design and SQL query optimization.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and authentication mechanisms (e.g., OAuth2, SAML).
- Manage containerized environments using Docker and Docker Compose.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate microservices with legacy systems.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
- Contribute to DevOps workflows including CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.
Required Experience
- Proven experience in PHP development using Laravel or other recognized frameworks.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and principles.
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration.
- Proficiency in database design and SQL (PostgreSQL or MySQL preferred).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Kamatera or similar).
- Experience with source control systems (e.g., Git).
- Comfortable working in Visual Studio Code or similar IDEs.
- Knowledge of web servers (Apache or Nginx).
