About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Software Engineer to join their distributed engineering team, working entirely remotely. This role is integral to designing, developing, and deploying high-quality software solutions that meet user needs and business objectives. You will contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, and mentor junior engineers. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while collaborating with a talented international team on challenging projects, serving clients that benefit from technological advancements in the Reading area and globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and robust software applications.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and features.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to team members.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software systems.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills for remote teamwork.
