Senior Software Project Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Project Manager to lead complex software development initiatives for their Reading -based operations, with a flexible hybrid working model. You will play a pivotal role in managing the entire software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering and design through to testing, deployment, and post-launch support. This position demands a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of software engineering principles and agile methodologies, capable of guiding development teams to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions. You will work collaboratively with product owners, engineering leads, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes in a dynamic technological landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects, adhering to strict timelines and quality standards.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to define project scope, requirements, and technical specifications.
• Manage and motivate cross-functional software development teams, ensuring efficient workflow and communication in a hybrid setting.
• Implement and refine Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) to optimize the software development process.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, technical challenges, and dependencies.
• Oversee the release process, ensuring smooth deployment and effective post-launch support.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Software Project Manager or Technical Project Manager.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software projects using Agile frameworks.
• Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including coding, testing, and deployment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and collaboration tools suitable for hybrid work.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
