Senior Solar Project Developer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-oriented Senior Solar Project Developer to join their expanding team, working entirely remotely. This role is central to identifying, securing, and advancing new solar energy projects across the UK. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from initial site assessment and feasibility studies through to securing land rights, permits, and grid connections. This is a pivotal position within the rapidly growing renewable energy sector , offering the chance to shape the future of solar power generation and contribute significantly to sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential sites for large-scale solar PV projects , assessing technical and commercial viability.
• Lead the negotiation and acquisition of land rights, easements, and other necessary agreements.
• Manage the development process, including obtaining planning permissions, environmental permits, and grid connection offers.
• Develop robust financial models and secure project financing.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, local authorities, grid operators, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee the tender process for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Renewable Energy, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Business.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in solar project development or a related role within the energy industry.
• Demonstrated success in securing sites, planning permissions, and grid connections for renewable energy projects .
• Strong understanding of solar technology, energy markets, and UK planning and environmental regulations.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting.
