Hours per week 37 Closing date 21/09/2026, 23:55 About the Role We are seeking a Senior Solutions Developer to join our Digital Strategy team and play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining critical systems that support policing services. Working closely with business stakeholders, analysts, developers and database administrators, you will help deliver high-quality digital solutions that are secure, accessible and aligned with organisational needs. What You'll Be Doing Designing, building, testing and deploying software solutions throughout the full development lifecycle. Maintaining and enhancing multiple business-critical systems used across the police force. Developing applications using technologies such as .NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and T-SQL . Working with relational databases to develop and support data-driven solutions. Collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements and identify opportunities for improvement. Producing technical documentation, test plans, technical designs and configuration management records. Supporting agile delivery practices and managing code through repositories such as Azure DevOps and GitHub . Mentoring and guiding Developer Analysts within the team. Ensuring solutions meet key standards relating to accessibility, information security, cyber security, GDPR and open data. What We're Looking For Proven experience in software development and application support. Strong knowledge of technologies including .NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, T-SQL and relational databases. Experience working with Azure DevOps, GitHub or similar code repositories. A good understanding of agile development methodologies and software development best practices. The ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. Experience producing technical documentation, test strategies and system designs. Strong collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills.
