Senior Sound Designer

About the Role

Our client, a cutting-edge game development studio located near Sunderland , is seeking a talented and imaginative Senior Sound Designer to craft immersive audio experiences for their upcoming AAA titles. You will be responsible for the entire audio landscape, from conceptualization and implementation to final mixing, ensuring a high level of polish and impact. This role offers the chance to collaborate with a passionate team of developers, artists, and writers, pushing the boundaries of audio design in interactive entertainment. Key Responsibilities

• Design, record, and implement all audio assets, including sound effects, environmental audio, and Foley.
• Collaborate with game designers and programmers to integrate audio seamlessly into gameplay.
• Develop and maintain the audio implementation pipeline using middleware like Wwise or FMOD.
• Mix and master audio assets to ensure optimal quality and balance across all platforms.
• Create adaptive and dynamic audio systems that react to player actions and game events.
• Mentor junior sound designers and provide technical and creative guidance.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in game audio design or a related field.
• Strong proficiency with digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Reaper, or Cubase.
• Experience with audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD) and game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity).
• A portfolio demonstrating exceptional sound design skills across various genres.
• Knowledge of acoustics, psychoacoustics, and audio engineering principles.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a passion for creating engaging audio experiences.
