Senior Sourcing Specialist (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Sourcing Specialist to join their global, remote-first procurement team. This role is essential for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives that drive significant cost savings and enhance supplier performance across various categories. You will leverage your expertise to identify, evaluate, and engage with suppliers worldwide, managing complex negotiations and contracts. This position offers the unique opportunity to work from anywhere, collaborating with a diverse, international team while making a substantial impact on the company's procurement strategy and operational efficiency, supporting business functions across Randburg and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing projects for key spend categories, including market analysis, supplier selection, and negotiation.
• Develop and implement long-term supplier relationship management strategies to optimize value and mitigate risk.
• Conduct comprehensive cost analysis and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
• Manage complex contract negotiations, ensuring favourable terms and compliance with legal and company requirements.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and align sourcing strategies accordingly.
• Mentor junior sourcing team members and contribute to the development of best practices within the procurement function.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in strategic sourcing , procurement, or category management, with a strong emphasis on complex negotiations and supplier management.
• Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional sourcing projects and achieving significant cost savings.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, crucial for remote collaboration.
• Proficiency in e-sourcing tools, P2P systems, and advanced data analysis techniques.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or relevant certifications are a plus.
