About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join their busy events kitchen in Glasgow . In this role, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, manage a brigade of chefs, and ensure the highest standards of food quality and consistency for a variety of high-profile events. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen, including staff supervision, training, and scheduling.
- Prepare and cook dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and quality across all menu items.
- Take responsibility for specific sections of the kitchen during service, ensuring efficient workflow and timely execution.
- Contribute to menu development and specials, bringing creative ideas and culinary expertise to the team.
- Manage inventory, stock rotation, and ordering for your designated sections, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie within a high-volume catering or fine dining establishment.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, including classic and modern methods.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop junior staff.
- A passion for high-quality food and presentation, with a keen eye for detail.
- Good understanding of food cost control and inventory management.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards during busy service periods in Glasgow .
