About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Sports Development Officer to join their team on a full-time, remote basis. This role is dedicated to expanding participation in sports and physical activity across underserved communities. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating programmes that increase access to sports, foster talent, and build sustainable sporting structures. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sports development principles, excellent project management skills, and a proven ability to engage diverse stakeholders in a virtual environment. This position offers the opportunity to drive significant positive change in community health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sports development plans to increase participation and engagement in targeted communities.
- Lead and manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring timely and effective delivery within budget.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with local authorities, schools, sports clubs, and community organisations.
- Secure funding and manage grants for sports development initiatives through effective proposal writing and reporting.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on the impact and effectiveness of sports programmes, using data to inform future strategies.
- Provide leadership and support to a team of sports development coordinators and partners.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in sports development , physical activity promotion, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in project management, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Proven ability to build and manage effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience in securing funding and managing grant-funded projects.
- Strong understanding of policies and best practices in sports development and public health.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and reporting skills, comfortable working in a remote setting.
