About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Sports Performance Analyst to join their dynamic team in Southampton . This role is crucial for enhancing athletic performance through in-depth data collection, analysis, and strategic feedback. You will work closely with coaching staff and athletes across various sports disciplines to identify key performance indicators, optimize training regimens, and develop winning strategies based on rigorous data interpretation. This hybrid role requires a blend of on-site presence for live event analysis and team interaction, alongside remote capabilities for in-depth data processing and report generation, contributing significantly to the team's competitive edge and long-term development, ensuring data-driven decision-making is at the forefront of athletic strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, process, and analyze performance data from training sessions and competitive events using advanced analytical tools and software.
- Develop and present comprehensive performance reports and insights to coaching staff, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and strategic opportunities.
- Utilize video analysis software to break down game footage, identify tactical patterns, and provide constructive feedback to athletes and coaches.
- Collaborate with coaches to set performance goals and develop personalized training plans based on data-driven insights.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in sports analytics , biomechanics, and performance technology, integrating new methodologies into practice.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of the performance analysis infrastructure within the organization.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Sports Science, Biomechanics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in sports performance analysis , preferably within a team or elite sports environment.
- Proficiency with performance analysis software (e.g., Hudl, Dartfish, Catapult) and statistical analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of physiological principles, training methodologies, and tactical concepts across multiple sports.
- Excellent data visualization, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
