About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Stress Engineer to join their advanced engineering department in Belfast . In this critical role, you will be responsible for performing detailed stress analysis on complex mechanical structures and components, ensuring their integrity, safety, and performance under various load conditions. You will play a key part in the product development cycle, contributing expertise in structural mechanics and simulation. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive stress analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to evaluate structural integrity.
- Interpret FEA results, identify potential failure modes, and recommend design modifications to improve structural performance.
- Develop and validate analytical models for complex mechanical assemblies and components.
- Collaborate with design engineers to ensure that structural requirements are met throughout the design process.
- Prepare detailed technical reports documenting analysis methodologies, results, and conclusions.
- Stay current with advancements in stress analysis techniques, software, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with a focus on structural mechanics.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in stress analysis and FEA.
- Proficiency in industry-standard FEA software packages (e.g., ANSYS Mechanical, Abaqus, NASTRAN).
- Strong understanding of mechanics of materials, structural dynamics, and fracture mechanics.
- Experience with composite materials and their analysis is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills.
