About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent Senior Structural Engineer to join their established team in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK . This role involves the design and management of structural aspects for a diverse range of building projects, including commercial, residential, and public sector developments. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, stability, and efficiency of building structures from conception through to completion. This is a key position offering leadership opportunities and the chance to work on technically demanding projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, extensive knowledge of structural design principles, and a commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions within a collaborative office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design of building projects, including foundations, framing systems (steel, concrete, timber), and facades.
- Conduct detailed structural analysis and calculations using advanced engineering software.
- Prepare comprehensive structural design drawings, specifications, and reports for client and contractor use.
- Oversee and provide technical support during the construction phase, including site visits and problem-solving.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and building regulations.
- Mentor and guide junior structural engineers, fostering technical development and ensuring high-quality output.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural specialization.
- Minimum of 6 years of post-graduate experience in structural design for buildings.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as Robot Structural Analysis, SAP2000 , or similar.
- Thorough understanding of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber design principles.
- Experience in managing project deliverables and client communications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
