About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join their leading engineering consultancy in Reading . This role is instrumental in delivering complex structural designs for a wide range of building projects, including commercial, residential, and institutional developments across Berkshire . You will take a lead role in design analysis, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the technical excellence of projects. Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design and analysis for major building projects from conception to completion.
- Develop innovative and cost-effective structural solutions in collaboration with architects and clients.
- Produce detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications using advanced software.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction, resolve design issues, and ensure quality assurance.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Ensure all designs comply with current building regulations and relevant British Standards.
Requirements
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or nearing completion with IStructE or ICE.
- Minimum of 6 years' post-graduate experience in structural engineering design.
- Expertise in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, Revit Structure) and CAD.
- In-depth knowledge of building materials, construction techniques, and relevant codes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead design teams effectively.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and client-facing skills.
