About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their fully remote team, contributing to a wide range of projects across the UK, with a focus on developments relevant to the Reading area. This senior role requires a comprehensive understanding of structural design principles, analysis, and materials. You will be responsible for leading design efforts, conducting complex structural analyses, and ensuring the integrity and safety of structures from concept through to construction. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design process for various building and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
- Perform advanced structural analysis using finite element analysis (FEA) software and other modeling techniques.
- Produce detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications for steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structures.
- Undertake design reviews and quality assurance checks to maintain high technical standards.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, architects, project managers, and contractors in a remote capacity.
- Provide expert technical advice and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years' post-graduate experience in structural engineering design.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with IStructE or ICE is essential.
- Extensive knowledge of structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, ETABS, Revit Structure) and Eurocodes.
- Experience in a wide range of structural materials and building types.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills for remote team collaboration.
