About the Role

Our client is seeking a distinguished Senior Structural Engineer to join their established engineering consultancy in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, UK . This role is crucial for leading the structural design and analysis of diverse building and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, integrity, and compliance of structural designs, while also mentoring junior engineers and fostering collaborative relationships with clients and construction teams. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis for a wide range of building and civil engineering projects.
• Ensure all structural designs comply with the latest British Standards, Eurocodes, and relevant building regulations .
• Conduct site visits and structural surveys to assess existing conditions and provide technical recommendations.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Manage project workloads, timelines, and client communications, ensuring high levels of service delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians within the team.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• A minimum of 8 years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering design.
• Proven track record in designing various types of structures, including steel, concrete, and masonry.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structural Designer) is required.
• Experience with project management and client liaison is essential.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and materials, with excellent problem-solving skills.
