About the Role
Our client, a key contributor to the Oil & Gas industry , is seeking a proficient Senior Structural Engineer to join their engineering hub in Plymouth, Devon . This role is pivotal in the structural design, analysis, and integrity management of offshore platforms, pipelines, and associated facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, stability, and durability of critical infrastructure subjected to harsh marine environments. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will apply advanced engineering principles and cutting-edge software to deliver robust structural solutions that meet stringent industry codes and project requirements, safeguarding operations in challenging offshore settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for offshore platforms, jackets, topsides, and subsea structures.
- Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations in accordance with industry codes (e.g., API, DNV, Eurocodes).
- Conduct integrity assessments and life extension studies for existing offshore assets.
- Manage structural engineering interfaces with other disciplines, including naval architecture, process, and mechanical engineering.
- Review vendor designs and fabrication drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior structural engineers.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in structural engineering , with a significant focus on offshore structures within the Oil & Gas industry .
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SACS, STAAD.Pro, or ANSYS.
- In-depth knowledge of offshore structural design codes, standards, and practices.
- Experience with fatigue analysis, seismic analysis, and blast analysis is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities.
