Senior Structural Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their innovative team, operating remotely with a focus on projects across the UK, including those in the Southampton area. This role is critical in delivering complex structural designs for a variety of building and infrastructure projects. You will take a lead role in the design process, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the structural integrity and safety of our clients' assets. This position offers significant autonomy and the chance to work on impactful projects from a flexible, remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of various building types, including residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
• Undertake complex structural analysis and calculations using state-of-the-art software.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and design reports.
• Manage structural engineering aspects of projects, liaising with architects, clients, and construction teams.
• Ensure designs comply with current British Standards, Eurocodes, and relevant building regulations.
• Mentor and guide junior structural engineers, fostering their technical development and career progression.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years' post-graduate experience in structural engineering design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis, Revit).
• Strong understanding of building materials, construction techniques, and design codes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for remote teamwork.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet demanding deadlines.
