About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join their respected engineering consultancy in Bristol . This role involves leading the structural design aspects of diverse building projects, including commercial, residential, and public sectors. You will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and efficiency of designs, from inception through to construction completion. This is a key position for a talented engineer who can provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the high standards of the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design for a variety of building projects using steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
- Perform complex structural analysis and calculations using industry-standard software.
- Produce detailed structural drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, clients, and contractors to ensure design intent is met.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and resolve any structural issues.
- Mentor and guide junior structural engineers and technicians.
Requirements
- Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering and Chartered Engineer (CEng) status (e.g., IStructE or ICE).
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering design for buildings.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis) and CAD.
- Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and construction practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience across a range of project types is highly desirable.
