Senior Structural Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Structural Engineer to join their esteemed firm, working remotely with project oversight for developments across Northern Ireland and beyond. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who excels in structural analysis and design, and who thrives in an autonomous, home-based work setting. You will be responsible for the structural integrity and design solutions for a variety of building projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and innovation. This position offers the flexibility of remote work combined with the challenge of contributing to significant construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for a wide range of building types, including residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
• Produce detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculation reports.
• Conduct site visits and inspections as required, liaising with site teams remotely or in person.
• Manage structural engineering aspects of projects from inception to completion.
• Ensure designs comply with the latest British Standards, Eurocodes, and building regulations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• MEng or BSc in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
• Professional Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with IStructE or ICE.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in structural engineering.
• Expertise in structural design software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or similar.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality results remotely.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams and clients.
