Our client is seeking a highly competent and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their respected engineering consultancy in Plymouth . This role is crucial for leading the structural design aspects of a wide range of building and infrastructure projects. You will apply your advanced technical knowledge to develop innovative and resilient structural solutions, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design and analysis for new builds, extensions, and refurbishment projects.
- Prepare detailed structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for various materials including steel, concrete, and timber.
- Conduct site inspections to assess existing structures and monitor construction progress.
- Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other consultants to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Mentor and supervise junior structural engineers and technicians.
- Ensure all designs meet relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and building regulations.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering consultancy.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis) and CAD.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, materials, and construction techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
