About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join their expanding practice based in Cardiff . This role involves leading the structural design of a diverse portfolio of projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial buildings, as well as infrastructure elements. You will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and performance of designs, working closely with architects, clients, and construction teams. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design process for various building and infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
- Perform complex structural analysis and calculations using advanced software tools.
- Prepare detailed structural drawings , specifications, and design reports for client and regulatory approval.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and other consultants to achieve optimal project outcomes.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and address any structural issues that may arise.
- Mentor and guide junior structural engineers and technicians, fostering their professional development.
Requirements
- Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural specialization.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in structural design and analysis.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or similar.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and design practices (e.g., Eurocodes).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards it is highly advantageous.
