About the Role
Our client is seeking a proficient Senior Structural Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team in Cambridge . This role is vital for designing, analyzing, and ensuring the integrity of structural components for a variety of projects, predominantly within the Oil & Gas sector. You will be responsible for leading structural design activities, performing complex analysis, and ensuring compliance with stringent industry codes and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of structural mechanics and a proven track record in delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective structural solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design of platforms, modules, pipe racks, and other offshore/onshore structures.
- Perform structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
- Develop detailed design drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant international codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., API, DNV, Eurocodes).
- Conduct structural integrity assessments and provide recommendations for maintenance and repair.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to achieve project objectives.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in structural engineering , with significant exposure to the Oil & Gas industry .
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, SACS, or similar.
- In-depth knowledge of material properties, structural mechanics, and load calculations.
- Experience with offshore structure design and analysis is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
