About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Structural Engineer to join their expanding team in Edinburgh . This role is central to delivering robust and innovative structural designs for a variety of challenging projects, from landmark buildings to critical infrastructure. You will be responsible for leading design teams, undertaking complex calculations, and ensuring the structural integrity and safety of all projects. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design process for a diverse range of projects, including commercial buildings, residential developments, and public infrastructure.
- Perform complex structural analysis and calculations using advanced engineering principles and software.
- Produce detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports that comply with British Standards and Eurocodes.
- Manage project deliverables, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to achieve optimal project outcomes.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and professional development.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a strong structural specialization.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognized professional body is essential.
- Proven track record in designing structures using steel, concrete, and masonry.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as Robot Structural Analysis, Tekla Structural Designer, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, planning policies, and construction methods relevant to Edinburgh .
