About the Role
Our client, a prominent player in the oil and gas industry , is seeking an experienced Senior Subsea Controls Engineer to join their engineering division in Wolverhampton . This vital role involves the design, development, testing, and implementation of advanced subsea control systems for offshore production facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliable and safe operation of subsea equipment through sophisticated control and monitoring solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydraulics, electronics, and software related to subsea control modules and systems, with a focus on delivering robust and innovative engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and specification of subsea control systems, including Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs), subsea control modules (SCMs), and topside control consoles.
- Develop and execute testing procedures for subsea control systems, ensuring functionality and compliance with project requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to subsea controls during fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to ensure the quality and timely delivery of subsea control system components.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to the development of engineering standards and best practices.
- Interface with project management, clients, and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful integration of subsea control systems into the overall offshore project in Wolverhampton .
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in the design and engineering of subsea control systems for the oil and gas sector.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, and control software for subsea applications.
- Experience with industry standards and best practices for subsea equipment and controls (e.g., API, ISO).
- Proficiency in relevant design and analysis tools, and experience with FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
