Senior Subsea Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Subsea Engineer to join their engineering department in Sunderland . This role focuses on the design, installation, and operation of subsea production systems for offshore oil and gas fields. You will be responsible for managing subsea projects, ensuring technical integrity, and optimizing the performance of subsea equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in subsea engineering principles and project management, contributing to the success of complex offshore developments. Based in Tyne and Wear, this role offers a unique opportunity within the offshore energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, specification, and procurement of subsea equipment , including trees, manifolds, and control systems.
• Manage subsea installation campaigns, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
• Oversee the integrity and maintenance of subsea assets throughout their lifecycle.
• Conduct technical reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
• Develop and implement subsea development strategies.
• Collaborate with fabrication yards, installation contractors, and clients.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in subsea engineering , preferably in the offshore oil and gas industry.
• Proven experience with subsea production systems, including hardware and controls.
• Strong project management skills and experience managing complex engineering projects.
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, DNV).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
