Senior Substation Engineer - Grid Infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of high-voltage AC and DC substation systems, including protection, control, and earthing.
• Develop technical specifications, single-line diagrams, and equipment layouts for substation projects.
• Oversee the construction, commissioning, and testing phases of substation projects, ensuring quality and adherence to design.
• Conduct site surveys, risk assessments, and feasibility studies for substation upgrades and new installations.
• Ensure all designs and works comply with relevant national and international electrical standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in substation design and engineering, preferably within the power transmission or distribution sector.
• Proficiency in substation design software and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of high-voltage equipment, protection relays, SCADA systems, and grid codes.
• Experience with project management principles and managing engineering teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
