Senior Subsurface Geologist

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a talented and experienced Senior Subsurface Geologist to join their remote team, contributing to crucial exploration and development projects within the Oil & Gas sector. This is a unique opportunity to work from anywhere in the UK, leveraging your geological expertise to analyse and interpret complex subsurface data. You will collaborate closely with reservoir engineers, geophysicists, and drilling teams to identify and evaluate hydrocarbon potential, making key contributions to strategic decision-making. The role demands a high degree of autonomy and excellent communication skills to thrive in a virtual environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and integrate geological, geophysical, and well log data to build and refine subsurface models .
• Identify and evaluate exploration and development targets, assessing hydrocarbon potential and associated risks.
• Perform sequence stratigraphic analysis and structural geology assessments.
• Contribute to the geological aspects of field development planning and production optimization.
• Prepare detailed geological reports, maps, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote setting.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related geoscience discipline.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in exploration and development geology within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency with geological software packages (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
• Strong skills in core analysis , well log interpretation, and seismic data interpretation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities, with a proven track record of remote collaboration.
