Senior Support Worker - Mental Health Services

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join their innovative mental health support team, operating remotely across the UK . This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive, person-centred support to individuals experiencing a range of mental health challenges, enabling them to live more independent and fulfilling lives. You will be a key player in delivering high-quality care and support, coordinating with external agencies and families to ensure a holistic approach to well-being, all within a supportive and forward-thinking remote work environment that values empathy, professional development, and proactive care strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized support plans, ensuring they meet the complex needs of service users with mental health conditions.
• Provide emotional and practical support, fostering independence, and promoting social inclusion for individuals in their own homes or community settings.
• Liaise effectively with families, carers, healthcare professionals, and other external agencies to coordinate care and advocate for service users' needs.
• Supervise and mentor junior support staff, offering guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of care delivery across the team.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate safeguarding measures in line with policy and best practice .
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of all support provided and any changes in service user conditions.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Support Worker or in a similar role within mental health services .
• A strong understanding of mental health conditions, recovery principles, and person-centred support planning.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills , essential for remote engagement.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage a caseload effectively, and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
• Relevant qualifications such as NVQ/QCF Level 3 or 4 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with sector best practices.
