Senior Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Support Worker to take on a leadership role within their residential care service in Belfast . You will be responsible for providing high-level support to residents with complex needs, whilst also supervising and mentoring a team of support staff. This role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of outstanding care, contributing to the development of care plans, and maintaining high standards of practice across the service. Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, person-centred support to residents, addressing their physical, emotional, and social needs.
• Supervise, guide, and support junior care staff, including providing informal feedback and mentoring.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and review of individual care plans.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting, maintaining high standards of documentation.
• Act as a key point of contact for residents, families, and external professionals.
• Promote a positive and inclusive living environment, encouraging resident independence and participation.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Support Worker, with demonstrable experience in a senior or supervisory capacity.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care.
• Proven ability to manage challenging behaviours and de-escalation techniques.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
• Full flexibility to work a rota system, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties.
