Senior Support Worker

Our client is recruiting a Senior Support Worker to provide leadership and guidance to a care team in Sunderland . This role involves mentoring junior staff, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the highest standards of care are met for service users. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of support workers, providing training and supervision.
• Assist with the assessment and implementation of care plans for individuals.
• Handle complex cases and challenging behaviours with sensitivity and professionalism.
• Ensure all care is delivered in line with organisational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in the on-call rota and respond to emergencies as needed.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Support Worker or similar role within social care.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Good understanding of safeguarding, care planning, and risk management.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is essential.
