About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Systems Administrator to manage and maintain their IT infrastructure in Oxford . This is an on-site role where you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of servers, networks, and related systems. You will play a key role in system upgrades, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing IT policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
- Manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions.
- Perform regular system backups and ensure data recovery procedures are effective.
- Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect company data.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, providing timely resolution.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Support end-users with IT-related queries and issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar IT infrastructure role.
- Strong knowledge of server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux ).
- Experience with network configuration and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Understanding of IT security best practices and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in an on-site, Oxford -based team.
