About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical Senior Systems Biologist to join their innovative research division in Reading . This role is pivotal in developing and applying computational and mathematical models to understand complex biological systems and networks. You will integrate diverse datasets, including omics data, to elucidate underlying mechanisms and predict system behavior. The ideal candidate will possess a strong quantitative background and a passion for interdisciplinary research, contributing to significant advancements in understanding disease pathology and developing targeted therapies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement computational models (e.g., network analysis, kinetic modeling, statistical modeling) to analyze complex biological data.
- Integrate multi-omics data (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics) to build comprehensive models of cellular pathways and regulatory networks.
- Analyze and interpret large, complex biological datasets to identify key drivers and predict system responses.
- Collaborate with experimental biologists to design experiments that test model predictions and refine hypotheses.
- Develop visualizations and dashboards to communicate complex model outputs to diverse audiences.
- Stay current with advances in systems biology, computational biology, and relevant software tools.
Requirements
- PhD in Systems Biology , Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience applying systems biology approaches to biological research questions.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant modeling and simulation software.
- Strong understanding of network analysis, statistical modeling, and mathematical biology principles.
- Experience with handling and integrating large-scale biological datasets.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, crucial for interdisciplinary collaboration in Reading .
