Senior Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join their critical infrastructure team in Oxford . Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage server infrastructure, operating systems, and related software.
• Administer and optimize network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Implement and maintain system security measures, including intrusion detection and prevention systems.
• Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions.
• Manage cloud infrastructure resources and ensure seamless integration with on-premises systems.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for complex system-related issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar infrastructure role.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
• Experience with network configuration and management (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Proficiency in scripting languages for automation (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
