Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join their advanced technology team in Oxford . Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage robust server infrastructure, including physical and virtual environments.
- Implement and maintain system security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and access controls.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations for improved efficiency.
- Develop and maintain automated scripts for system administration tasks using languages like PowerShell or Bash .
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and applications.
- Respond to system incidents, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or System Administrator in a complex IT environment.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, particularly Linux and Windows Server .
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools.
- Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and security best practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS , Azure) is a plus.
