Are you an experienced children's residential care professional ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a dedicated Senior / Team Leader – Children's Residential to join established children's residential services across the North West. This is an excellent opportunity to lead by example, support young people, and make a real impact within a caring team.
About the Senior / Team Leader – Children's Residential Role
As a Senior / Team Leader – Children's Residential, you will be a vital part of the home's leadership team, working closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and consistent care for children and young people. Your role will involve fostering a positive environment where young people feel valued, safe, and supported in their development.
Candidate Responsibilities
- Leading and supporting the residential team during shifts
- Acting as a positive role model for staff and young people
- Building strong, trusting relationships with children and young people
- Supporting young people with emotional, behavioural, and social needs
- Promoting positive behaviour and managing challenging situations effectively
- Supporting care plans, risk assessments, and placement plans
- Maintaining accurate records and daily documentation
- Upholding safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Mentoring and developing staff members
- Working closely with management to ensure high standards of care and compliance
- Taking responsibility for the home's environment and team's performance when needed
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people in residential settings
- Experience supporting young people with challenging or complex behaviours
- Previous Senior Support Worker or Team Leader experience
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
- Confident leadership and team support abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm, resilient, and consistent approach
- Commitment to improving outcomes for young people
- Level 3 qualification in Children’s Residential Care or willingness to work towards
