Senior Telecoms Engineer - Wireless

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Telecoms Engineer specializing in wireless technologies to join their innovative team. While based remotely, this role will significantly contribute to the development and deployment of advanced wireless networks serving clients nationwide, including those in the Reading area. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing wireless infrastructure, ensuring robust performance, scalability, and security. This position demands a deep technical expertise in wireless communications, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, within a forward-thinking telecoms organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer robust and scalable wireless network solutions, including 4G, 5G, and Wi-Fi technologies.
• Conduct site surveys, network capacity planning, and performance analysis for wireless deployments.
• Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot wireless network equipment and systems.
• Develop technical specifications, documentation, and implementation plans for wireless projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate wireless solutions with existing network infrastructure.
• Stay abreast of the latest wireless technologies and industry trends, recommending advancements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Telecoms Engineer with a specialization in wireless technologies (e.g., LTE, 5G NR, Wi-Fi).
• Proficiency in wireless network design tools, simulation software, and RF planning.
• Strong understanding of wireless protocols, standards, and spectrum management.
• Experience with network performance monitoring and optimization techniques for wireless systems.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a remote, distributed team.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
