About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Telecoms Fibre Engineer to join their expanding team in Liverpool . This role is essential for the deployment and maintenance of the company's advanced fibre optic network infrastructure. You will be responsible for complex fibre splicing, testing, and troubleshooting, ensuring the highest standards of network performance and reliability. This is a hands-on role for an expert in fibre optics, offering the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects within the UK's rapidly evolving telecoms sector .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced fibre optic splicing , testing (OTDR, power meter), and fault location on live and new network installations.
• Install and commission fibre optic cables, connectors, and equipment according to technical specifications and industry best practices.
• Diagnose and resolve complex fibre optic network issues, minimizing service disruption and ensuring rapid restoration.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to plan and execute fibre optic network deployments.
• Ensure all work is documented accurately, including test results, as-built drawings, and fault reports.
• Mentor junior technicians, sharing expertise and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Fibre Optic Engineer within the telecommunications industry.
• Proficiency in various fibre optic splicing techniques and advanced testing equipment.
• Strong understanding of fibre optic network principles, standards, and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret complex network designs and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in the field.
• Relevant certifications in fibre optics or telecommunications are highly desirable.
