About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Telecoms Field Engineer to serve the Plymouth area. This role requires a seasoned professional to handle complex installations, maintenance, and repairs of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure across various customer sites. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving challenging technical issues, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery. The position demands a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a demanding field environment. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the reliability and performance of our client's network solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission advanced telecommunications systems and hardware.
• Perform complex diagnostics and troubleshooting of network faults and equipment failures.
• Provide on-site technical support and solutions for challenging customer issues.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and performance tuning of network infrastructure.
• Mentor and guide junior field engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, including service reports and site surveys.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Telecoms Field Engineer or similar technical role.
• Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of telecom hardware and software.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, cabling standards (fiber and copper), and wireless technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret complex network diagrams and specifications.
• Excellent customer-facing skills and a professional attitude.
• Full UK driving license and a strong commitment to safety protocols.
