Senior Telecoms Network Administrator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Telecoms Network Administrator to manage and maintain their critical network infrastructure in Reading . This role is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operational health, security, and performance of the company's telecommunications systems. You will play a key role in network upgrades, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing best practices to support business operations. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of network administration and a proactive approach to system management.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor network performance and security, implementing measures to protect against threats.
• Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and performance issues promptly.
• Manage network user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Plan and execute network hardware and software upgrades and replacements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in network administration , with a focus on telecommunications networks.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols, and network security principles.
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring and management tools.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices from various vendors.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
