Senior Telecoms Network Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Senior Telecoms Network Architect to lead the design and strategic planning of their next-generation telecommunications infrastructure. This is a fully remote role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. You will be responsible for developing high-level network designs, defining technical standards, and guiding the implementation of complex projects that underpin our client's services. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring our network is scalable, secure, and capable of supporting future technological advancements and business growth. You'll collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organisation to translate business objectives into robust network strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the overall architecture for the company's telecommunications network, including core networks , access, and transport layers.
• Define technical roadmaps and strategies for network evolution, incorporating emerging technologies like 5G, SDN, and NFV.
• Evaluate and select appropriate network hardware, software, and protocols to meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
• Provide expert guidance and technical leadership to network engineering and operations teams during the design and implementation phases.
• Conduct feasibility studies and proof-of-concept projects for new network technologies and solutions.
• Ensure network designs comply with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and security standards.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in telecoms network design and architecture, with a proven track record of delivering complex solutions.
• Expertise in multiple areas, including IP networking, optical transport, wireless technologies, and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices for securing large-scale networks.
• Demonstrated experience with service provider networks and an understanding of their operational complexities.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
