About the Role
Our client is seeking a forward-thinking and experienced Senior Telecoms Network Architect to join their progressive team based in Edinburgh . This senior position involves leading the design and strategic planning of our client's next-generation telecommunications network infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in defining architectural standards, evaluating emerging technologies, and ensuring the network evolves to meet future business demands for performance, scalability, and security. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and articulate comprehensive architectural roadmaps for the evolution of the company's telecoms network .
- Lead the design of complex, high-availability network solutions incorporating technologies like SDN, NFV, and cloud-native principles.
- Evaluate and recommend new hardware, software, and service offerings to enhance network capabilities.
- Define and enforce network architecture standards, best practices, and security policies across the organization.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and product teams to ensure architectural alignment with business objectives.
- Conduct technical reviews, feasibility studies, and performance assessments for significant network initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 5 years in a dedicated network architecture role.
- Extensive knowledge of IP networking, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), MPLS, and transport technologies.
- Proven experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), and cloud networking concepts.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
