About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Telecoms Network Operations Engineer to join their network operations center (NOC) team based in Wolverhampton . This critical role involves maintaining the stability, performance, and security of their extensive telecommunications network. You will be instrumental in monitoring network health, responding to incidents, performing routine maintenance, and driving improvements to operational processes. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network infrastructure for performance issues, outages, and security threats using advanced monitoring tools.
• Respond promptly and effectively to network incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing timely resolutions.
• Execute planned maintenance activities, including software upgrades and configuration changes, with minimal disruption.
• Develop and refine operational procedures and documentation to improve network efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with design and deployment teams to ensure smooth transitions of new network services into operation.
• Mentor and support junior members of the network operations team.

Requirements

• Significant experience in a Network Operations role within the telecommunications industry.
• Deep understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching technologies, and WAN/LAN environments.
• Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios).
• Experience with scripting for network automation is a strong advantage.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
