About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Telecoms Network Operations Manager to oversee their critical network infrastructure in Edinburgh . This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the highest levels of network availability, performance, and security across all operational systems. You will manage a team of network engineers and technicians, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of network operations, and a proven ability to manage complex environments and high-pressure situations, contributing to the reliability of telecommunications services across Scotland.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the company's telecommunications network infrastructure.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure optimal network performance and uptime.
- Oversee network monitoring, incident management, problem resolution, and change management processes.
- Manage and mentor a team of network operations staff, fostering professional development and high performance.
- Collaborate with engineering and planning teams to ensure seamless integration of new network services and technologies.
- Manage vendor relationships and service level agreements to ensure consistent support and delivery.
- Develop and manage the operational budget for the network infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in network operations, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, complex telecom networks in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, monitoring tools, and ITIL best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage incident response and disaster recovery planning.
