About the Role
Our client seeks a strategic and analytical Senior Telecoms Network Planner to join their operations in Edinburgh . This role is vital in shaping the future capacity and capabilities of our client's extensive telecommunications network. You will be responsible for long-term network planning, capacity forecasting, and technology roadmapping to ensure our infrastructure meets future demand and evolving market needs. Key Responsibilities
- Develop long-term network expansion and capacity plans based on traffic forecasts and business objectives.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for new network technologies and infrastructure upgrades.
- Create detailed network designs and blueprints for future network build-outs.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to align planning initiatives.
- Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for network enhancement.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on network development strategies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecom network planning or a related strategic role.
- Strong understanding of network architecture, capacity planning methodologies, and traffic engineering principles.
- Expertise in IP networking, optical transport, and mobile network technologies (4G/5G).
- Proficiency with network planning tools and simulation software.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment , engaging with teams both remotely and in the office in Edinburgh .
