Senior Telecoms Network Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and security-focused Senior Telecoms Network Security Engineer to join their fully remote team. This crucial role involves safeguarding our client's telecommunications infrastructure against evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures, protocols, and solutions to protect network integrity and data confidentiality. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage network security solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and access control systems.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and address potential risks.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices across the telecoms network .
• Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents promptly, leading investigations and implementing remediation actions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure security is integrated into network design and deployment phases.
• Stay current with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies in the telecommunications landscape.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in network security engineering, with a focus on telecommunications networks .
• In-depth knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, firewalls, encryption, authentication).
• Hands-on experience with security tools and platforms.
• Proven ability to perform security risk assessments and incident response.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or similar are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex security issues.
