About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Telecoms Network Security Specialist to bolster their security posture from their Cambridge office. This crucial role focuses on safeguarding the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of their telecommunications network infrastructure against evolving threats. You will lead the design, implementation, and management of robust security solutions, conduct security assessments, and respond to security incidents. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain advanced network security solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and access control systems.
- Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing on telecoms networks .
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Monitor security alerts and logs, investigate potential security breaches, and lead incident response efforts.
- Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies relevant to the telecoms industry .
- Collaborate with network engineering and operations teams to integrate security measures into network designs and operations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in network security , with a focus on telecoms environments.
- In-depth knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and technologies.
- Hands-on experience with security hardware and software from leading vendors.
- Experience with SIEM tools, vulnerability scanning, and threat intelligence platforms.
- Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure during security incidents.
