Senior Telecoms Network Security Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Telecoms Network Security Specialist to join their fully remote security team. This pivotal role involves safeguarding the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our client's telecommunications network infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust security solutions, conducting risk assessments, and responding to security incidents. This is a critical position for a security-focused professional who wants to make a significant impact on network security within a flexible, remote-first organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDPS), and VPNs.
• Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
• Monitor network traffic for security threats and respond to security incidents in a timely and effective manner.
• Collaborate with network engineering teams to ensure security is integrated into network design and operations.
• Provide security awareness training to network personnel and other relevant staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in network security , with a strong focus on telecommunications environments.
• In-depth knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TLS/SSL, IPsec, WAFs).
• Experience with security monitoring tools, SIEM solutions, and incident response frameworks.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCNA Security, or GIAC are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a remote team.
